Campaign 2012

Romney Reports Worth of Up to $264 Million

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney reported financial worth of up to $264 million, according to financial disclosure records.

The documents suggest that Romney, who made most of his fortune in the private sector before he was elected governor of Massachusetts in 2002, is worth less than he reported during his last White House bid in 2007, The Washington Post reported.

"Records suggest that Romney has seen a small, but limited, drop in wealth during one of the nation’s worst economic downturns, with his maximum assets worth about 8 percent less," The Post reported.
