As he weighs whether to jump into the crowded Republican presidential field, Texas Gov. Rick Perry received an important vote of confidence, according to media reports on Wednesday—from his wife, Anita.

“My wife was talking to me and saying, 'Listen ... get out of your comfort zone. Yeah, being governor of Texas is a great job, but sometimes you're called to step into the fray,'" Perry said, according to KHOU.com.

Anita Perry, who has a master's degree in nursing and is worried about the effects of health care reform, is accustomed to life in politics. Rick Perry has been in politics since he made a 1984 run for the Texas House, and she has always been there with him.
