A fire on Wednesday damaged the kitchen of the Tune Inn bar, a popular Capitol Hill watering hole, causing $75,000 to $100,000 in damage, according to D.C. fire department spokesman Pete Piringer. The cause appears to have been accidental and there were no injuries.

Below are photos of some of the damage and Twitter highlights from area residents.

I really worry about the graffiti inside the #TuneInn bathrooms. Smartest stuff I've ever read on bathroom walls - and spelled correctly!

I love how my DC tweeps are all talking about Tune Inn fire, more important than any crazy politics this morning.

Twitter is a-buzz about the #TuneInn. A break from this greasy spoon will probably reduce heart attacks in the region. Glad no one was hurt.

Dear #TuneInn - Please be ok. I need you for your grilled cheeses and BBQ sauce. Thanks, AP

So #TuneInn caught fire? That's terrible, and with the amount of grease in that place I imagine it was a hard one to put out.

As Esquire magazine once wrote, “The mounted deer heads on the wall make this dive interesting. The deer asses make it great.” #TuneInn

LD: Hopefully when they turned a hose on inside #tuneinn it gave it a much-needed cleaning.

#5Guys=Poor man's #TuneInn. Hope reporting of fire is false. If true, the amount of formaldehyde in there can take down DC.

I've heard from @HillHulse re: Tune Inn: "I think my heart stopped... It is as least as important an institution as the Supreme Court."

Once the waitress @tuneinndc punched my friend in the ribs because he didn't leave big enough tip. Endearing. Really. #tuneinnfire #memories

Local Twitter so consumed with @TuneInnDC fire this AM, there was little notice of dump truck bomb scare at WH. We KNOW what's important!
