The prospect of Barack Obama making his first trip to Israel in the spring is big news and Stephen Colbert took the opportunity to mine Jewish-themed humor on his show on the occasion. The Hebrew language, falafel and Chanukah gelt all got time on Tuesday’s Colbert Report

Craig Ferguson spent most of his monologue on the Tuesday Los Angeles mayoral election, using the opportunity to highlight gay Republican candidate Kevin James. Conan O’Brien was the only host to mention the sequester and its budget cuts, using meat inspectors again as an example. On ABC, Jimmy Kimmel focused on the canine question during Michelle Obama's Let's Move Google Hangout.

Fast forward to 2:50 to see Colbert relate food to Obama’s Israel trip.
