Jon Huntsman picked up a big-name endorsement on Wednesday: Jeb Bush Jr., son of the former Florida governor, nephew of George W. Bush, and grandson of George H.W. Bush, announced that he is backing Huntsman in the Republican primary.
"I am confident that Jon's vision will appeal to young voters, who are concerned about the trillions of dollars in debt being piled on their backs, and who desperately seek jobs and economic opportunity," Bush said in a news release.
Bush, who will chair Huntsman's youth outreach program, cited Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., a tea party favorite, in his endorsement of Huntsman.
"He understands that, as Marco Rubio recently noted, 'We don't need more taxes; we need more taxpayers,'" Bush said.
So far, none of Bush's more famous elder relatives have picked a favorite in the GOP primary.
Also joining the Huntsman campaign on Wednesday: Florida Republican activist Ana Navarro, who worked for former Gov. Jeb Bush.
