Campaign 2012

In Iowa, Mitt Romney Gets a Taste of Traditional Fried Foods -- PICTURES

+

DES MOINES, IA - AUGUST 11: Summer Anderson of Washington, Iowa, gives her son Brayton Anderson, 9, his first bite of deep fried butter-on-a-stick at the Iowa State Fair August 11, 2011 in Des Moines, Iowa. Anderson said it tasted like a cinnamon roll with a lot of butter. "You got to have something weird at the fair," she said. (Chip Somodevilla/Getty Images)

No visit to the Iowa State Fair would be complete without trying the smorgasbord of cholesterol-laden treats. As presidential hopeful Mitt Romney made the rounds at the Des Moines campaign destination this week, he got a taste of what Iowans had to offer, enjoying—or at least trying to stomach—various fried foods. He even took a turn at serving up some pork chops.
