Here's Friday's Front-Page Photo of Obama

President asks Marines to hold umbrella over him and Turkish prime minister as they address the press.

It began raining during President Obama’s Rose Garden press conference Thursday afternoon, so he called in the Marines—specifically to hold umbrellas over the heads of Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. (Obama said he didn’t want to be a bad host to the foreign head of state.)

Obama cracked a joke about how they didn’t have umbrellas for the assembled reporters. And the awkward image—of Obama talking about scandals while a Marine holds an umbrella over him—offers up some political symbolism for the front pages of America's newspapers.
