Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour speaks at the 2011 CPAC conference in Washington DC on Saturday, February 12, 2011. (Chet Susslin)

When asked last year whether he would run for president, Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour tied his presidential ambitions to his waistline: "If you see I lose 40 pounds, you'll know I'm either running or got cancer," he told reporters. Barbour spoke at the Conservative Political Action Conference this morning and, though he was silent on a White House bid, his cheeks did seem a little less round.

But judge for yourself. Here's Barbour speaking at this morning's CPAC conference (L) and the Republican National Congressional Committee's midterm election results watch party last November.

Is Barbour preparing for a presidential run? (And maybe even a 5k?)
