Even though the official Election Day is still a few days and weeks ahead, residents of several states have already begun voting. Many residents of other states, meanwhile, have already cast absentee ballots.

Below are the states that allow -- and don't allow -- early voting, as well as associated dates, dates in which absentee ballots can be cast, and hours (in local time) that polls will be open on Election Day, as compiled from the National Association of Secretaries of State website.

A few notes: State registration dates that include the abbriviation "EDR" allow for Election Day registration; Oregon and Washington only have mail-in voting; and for the latest information for each state and information on how to contact your state's election office, see the NASS elections page
