BP spent at least $2 million on lobbying in the first three months of this year, according to a disclosure form.

The Wednesday filing came on the one-year anniversary of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill began in the Gulf of Mexico. Some of BP's lobbying efforts focused on ending the offshore drilling moratorium the administration imposed following the spill and limiting how much it would have to pay to clean up the Gulf Coast, the Huffington Post reports.

BP hired at least the following five lobbying firms: Alpine Group; Fierce, Isakowitz & Blalock; the Podesta Group; Stuntz Davis & Staffier; and the Duberstein Group.
