+

Senator Joe Lieberman, I/Conn.(Chet Susslin)

President Obama led thousands of mourners at a memorial service for Richard Holbrooke in Washington, D.C. this afternoon. The president hailed Holbrooke for "speaking truth to power" and "bringing peace to the Balkans."

Among those speaking at the memorial: former President Bill Clinton, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and Holbrooke's widow, the author Kati Marton.

The memorial filled the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington. The diplomatic corps was in full attendance as well as several heads of state.
