Reader Tony Peyser weighs in with a poetic take on Al Gore's sale of Current TV to Al-Jazeera. Thought I'd share it, because I've had a hard time getting my mind around the deal and think Tony's jibe is smarter than anything I could write.
His poem is titled, "Al Gore Sells Current TV to Al-Jazeera, Could Make $70 Million in Deal." Here it is:
That really is a lot--no, make that
A ton--of money, so one
Has to be impressed because that
Channel’s watched by no one.
This certainly proves that Gore’s a genius.
It’s not even midwinter, yet
I’m thinking maybe he was smart enough
To have invented the Internet.
