This week, the political world was buzzing with Herman Cain's "9-9-9" plan and his new status as a Republican front-runner. The wife of another 2012 contender said 9-9-9 makes her want to call 9-1-1. Plus, President Obama took a swipe at Fox News's Ed Henry. Here's the week that was, in quotes and pictures.

"Mitt Romney is the man we need to lead America." --New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, Oct. 11(MEL EVANS/AP)

"I made a commitment to the president through his reelection, which I'm confident he will do, and then my wife and I will return to Chicago." --White House Chief of Staff William Daley, Oct. 11(CHET SUSSLIN)

"I don't buy beer." --GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain, Oct. 11(TONI SANDYS, POOL/AP)

"When you take the 9-9-9 plan and turn it upside down, the devil's in the details." --GOP presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, Oct. 11(STEPHAN SAVOIA/AP)

"Pennsylvania is not the gas capital of the country. Washington, D.C., is the gas capital of the country." --GOP presidential candidate Jon Huntsman, Oct. 11(TONI SANDYS, POOL/AP)

"I wouldn't fixate too much on the tea party. There's a whole lot more to the Republican Party than the tea party." --Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels (R), Oct. 12(CHET SUSSLIN)

"I didn't know you were the spokesperson for Mitt Romney." --President Obama, to Fox News's Ed Henry, Oct. 13(PABLO MARTINEZ MONSIVAIS/AP)

“When I hear 9-9-9, I want to call 9-1-1." --Texas first lady Anita Perry, Oct. 13(MICHAEL THOMAS/AP)
