The Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony in Honor of Constantino Brumidi — PICTURES

The Congressional Gold Medal was awarded posthumously to Constantino Brumidi on Wednesday in a ceremony held in the Rayburn Room of the Capitol. Brumidi (1805-1880) was an Italian immigrant commissioned to paint portions of the Capitol, including the fresco under the dome. He is known as the Michelangelo of the Capitol.
