Sixty-nine percent of poll respondents said they thought Ronald Reagan would go down in history as an outstanding president. Twenty percent said he would be viewed as average, and 10 percent said below average.

Gerald Ford has a net rating of plus-2, and had the highest percentage of respondents saying he would go down in history as an average president: 54 percent.

Jimmy Carter's net rating is minus-13. Twenty-five percent say he will go down in the outstanding category, but 38 percent say he will be seen as below average.

George W. Bush's net rating comes in at minus-22. Forty-seven percent said he would be seen as below average. Only 25 percent said he would be viewed as outstanding.

Respondents' least favorite president was Richard Nixon, whose net rating is minus-41: Only 14 percent said he would be seen as outstanding, but 55 percent said he would go down in history as a poor president.
