Primary Season Shifts Into High Gear

The November lineups for four big Senate races will start to take shape Tuesday as voters go to the polls for primaries in six states. Fields will be set for what are certain to be close contests in Arkansas, Kentucky, and Oregon, while a July runoff is expected for the Republican Senate nomination in Georgia where five high-profile candidates are running for the seat being vacated by GOP Sen. Saxby Chambliss. The governor's race tops the ballot in Pennsylvania and a congressional battle in Idaho pits the Republican establishment against conservative groups.
