DAN MAFFEI: When I was growing up in Syracuse, my grandfather owned a small metal plating plant. A hundred people used to work here. Today, they're all gone.
By the time I went to my 10th high school reunion, most of my classmates had left. Folks moved away to find good jobs and provide for their families.
My fiancee, Abby, and I have decided to live right here. And now I'm running for Congress, because I know if we stay and fight, together, we can make upstate New York great again.
