Both Israel and Hamas agreed to a cease-fire deal on Wednesday, Egyptian Foreign Minister Mohammed Kamel Amr announced, according to the Associated Press.

The announcement, made alongside Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, comes after a week of intense fighting in the Middle East. Approximately 140 have died since the hostilities began, according to The New York Times.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed the deal to AP, and said that he had agreed after consulting with President Obama.

The cease-fire is set to begin at 9 p.m. local time (2 p.m. eastern), the AP reported.
