The son of deposed Libyan dictator Muammar el-Qaddafi was captured in southern Libya, Libya's interim justice minister said on Saturday, according to Reuters.

Saif al-Islam, who was also Qaddafi's heir apparent, and several bodyguards were arrested near the town of Obari. He will be held in the town of Zintan until a new government is formed to hand him over to. That's due to happen within days.

Qaddafi, who led Libya from 1969 to 2011, was killed on Oct. 20.
