President Obama in an election-year speech delivered in Afghanistan said that the tide in Afghanistan began to turn after is presidency began.

"Over the last three year's the tide has turned. ... We devestated al Qaida's leadership. ... And one  year ago from a base here in Afghanistan our troops launched the operation that killed Osama bin Laden," Obama said on Tuesday.
