McCain Disagrees With Boehner on Criticism of the President

Sen. John McCain said on Wednesday that he disagrees with House Speaker John Boehner, who said the president should not be criticized during a trip abroad.

“This is very serious," McCain said on Fox News’s Fox & Friends. "No matter where the president is, if he makes a statement that I think could endanger the United States’ national security interest, I have to respond, no matter where the president of the United States is.”

The Arizona Republican also agreed somewhat with Mitt Romney’s assertion that Russia remains a “foe” of the United States, saying, “I think in many respects” it is, noting Russia’s dealings with Syria and North Korea.
