Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled a trip to the United Kingdom and Turkey because her mother, Dorothy Rodham, has fallen ill, the Associated Press reported on Tuesday.

Clinton was slated to attend a cybersecurity conference in London and an international meeting on Afghanistan in Istanbul this week. However, she has decided to stay in Washington, D.C., due to her 92-year old mother's illness.

State Department officials did not reveal the nature of Dorothy Rodham's illness, the AP said.
