Four Republican senators traveled to Libya to meet with the new transitional government, the Associated Press reports.
John McCain of Arizona, Mark Kirk of Illinois, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Marco Rubio of Florida made up the highest-profile American delegation to visit the country since Muammar el-Qaddafi was forced out of power.
The visit was kept largely under wraps, with the senators traveling from Malta. In addition to meeting with the Transitional National Council, which is currently governing Libya, the group plans to tour Martyrs' Square and hold a news conference.
