Activists in Syria reported that loyalist government forces went on a killing spree this weekend after seizing the town of Daraya, a suburb of Damascus, The New York Times reported.
Reports of the death toll range from 300 to as high as 600, according to the Associated Press.
Activists posted video of the corpses of children lined up and wrapped in white blankets. Other video footage showed the bodies of men with gunshot wounds to the head. The massacre was difficult to verify due to extreme restrictions placed on foreign media coverage.
