A new book from a former Navy SEAL seemingly contradicts the official account of the death of Osama bin Laden, the Associated Press reports.
The firsthand account of the raid in “No Easy Day,” by Matt Bissonnette, claims that bin Laden was hit in the head when he looked out a door into a hallway as SEALs ran up the stairs toward him.
He writes that after shots were fired, bin Laden ducked back into the room, but when SEALs came upon him, he was wounded on the floor and SEALs shot him several times until he was dead.
Official accounts say SEALs shot bin Laden after he ducked into the room because they believed he might be reaching for a weapon.
