On Super Bowl Sunday, Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels weighed in on one of the biggest debates gripping his state: whether or not longtime Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning should return to the team next year.
“I can’t imagine this town or team without him,” Daniels said on NBC’s Meet the Press, hours before Indianapolis hosts the Super Bowl.
Daniels praised Manning not just as a football player, but as a “citizen,” Asked if Manning had taken his last snap in a Colts jersey, the governor said, “We sure hope not.”
