Conducted 3/8-4/22/01; surveyed 1,709 adults including 779 whites, 3,232 African Americans, 315 Hispanics and 254 Asians; margin of error +/- 3% for total, 4% for whites, 6% for African Americans, 7% for Hispanics, and 9% for Asians (release, 7/11).
