Colorado Republican Pete Coors again promises "straight talk and honest answers" in his second campaign commercial, which hits airwaves next week. As he does in his first ad, Coors criticizes Congress for its loose purse strings.
"With 57 lawyers and a Senate dominated by professional politicians, no wonder spending is out of control," Coors tells viewers, adding that he's "lived within budgets and created jobs." He also promises to reduce spending and balance the budget without raising taxes.
Campaign spokeswoman Cinamon Watson said the 30-second "Spending" will join Coors' debut ad in a statewide rotation on cable and broadcast networks. McAuliffe Message Media produced both spots.
Coors will compete against former Rep. Bob Schaffer (R) in the Aug. 10 Republican primary.
