Montana Sen. Max Baucus' (D) latest TV ad spotlights his support of the Second Amendment and his endorsement from the National Rifle Association.
The ad opens with Baucus saying, "One of my best memories is when my dad gave me my first gun and taught me the responsibility that goes along with it." As footage on screen shows Baucus hunting, an announcer says the senator is a "strong supporter of the Second Amendment" with praise from the Montana Standard and the endorsement of the NRA. The ad concludes with Baucus saying that hunting is "part of our tradition."
"Heritage" was produced by Greer Margolis Mitchell Burns and began running statewide on Oct. 17.
The Republican who was challenging Baucus this year, state Sen. Mike Taylor, suspended his campaign Oct. 10 after a controversial Democratic party ad ran statewide. Taylor's name remains on the ballot, but he will no longer be campaigning.
