Live From the Hill: Trying to Beat the Heat -- PICTURES

The lucky ones: Officers Robert Mullins and Alex Rys, say the police rotation landed them the best post for today's heat. They wear 25 pound belts and thick vests that add about 10 to 15 degrees to the body. Mullins and Rys, both a part of the Capitol Police's first responder unit, have an umbrella and water cooler, unlike an unfortunate colleague who was taken to the hospital for heat exhaustion earlier today.
