LaHood's High-Speed Announcement

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 09:  Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood speaks to the media on May 9, 2011 at Penn Station in New York City. Secretary LaHood announced that the U.S. government has awarded $795 million to increase rail speeds between Boston and Washington. This money is the largest share of the more than $2 billion in high-speed rail-grants that the state of Florida rejected in February. Amtrak, which won $450 million, will use the money to increase rider capacity and to improve travel times between Philadelphia and New York.  (Photo by Spencer Platt/Getty Images) *** Local Caption *** Ray LaHood;(Spencer Platt/Getty Images)
