While Washington is flailing in its attempts to put 14 million Americans back to work, District residents on Tuesday morning took a more proactive approach. Hundreds—young and old, just laid-off or struggling with unemployment for years, some with GEDs and others with Ph.D.s—turned up for the 14th annual D.C. job fair organized by Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., at the Washington Convention Center seeking just one thing: jobs. The unemployment rate in the District stands above the national average at 10.4 percent. Below are photos from Tuesday's fair.
