ROVE
The Missing Link
The House Judiciary Cmte asked ex-WH adviser Karl Rove 4/17 to testify under oath "about claims that he influenced the federal corruption case against" ex-AL Gov. Don Siegelman (D). Cmte Chair John Conyers (D-MI) said the DoJ "has simply not been forthcoming, and I feel the only way to move this investigation forward is to seek further independent investigation and testimony from Karl Rove, who appears to be the missing link in a chain" from the WH to the DoJ. The DoJ is reviewing the cmte's report; the WH did not comment (Evans, AP, 4/17).
