Political experts say Barack Obama's remarks about small-town America and guns surely won't help his cause in WV. WV Univ. prof. Neil Berch: "What's interesting is that I don't know of any substantive differences on that issue between" Hillary Clinton "and Obama. Clinton makes the case that she understands the culture and Obama doesn't. In the general election, I figure McCain will have an advantage on that here, anyway." More: "West Virginia has moved to the right a little for presidential politics. The rest of the country has moved a little to the left. The key swing states now might be" NV, NM, or even VA, "rather than" WV (Stump, Charleston Daily Mail, 4/17).
