Obviously, He's Not Listening To Enough Obama's Conference Calls

'07 MA-05 nominee/farmer/ret. USAF Lt. Col. Jim Ogonowski (R) is up with his first TV ad, by Jamestown Assoc., a 60-sec. piece running statewide on cable for 3 weeks. Full script "Where's John Kerry?":

OGONOWSKI: "I'm Jim Ogonowski. I'm driving around Massachusetts going coffee shop to coffee shop to find out what's on peoples' minds." PERSON 1: "Just the economy." PERSON 2: "The price of gas." PERSON 3: "Do something with the economy." PERSON 4: "The war I think is important." PERSON 5: "The economy." PERSON 6: "Our borders." PERSON 7: "I would say fix the health situation." OGONOWSKI: "They're getting frustrated." PERSON 8: "Because this state really needs a change." PERSON 9: "We're going in the wrong direction." PERSON 10: "Nobody cares. Not in Washington. Nobody gives a damn." CHYRON: "And John Kerry is nowhere to be found." OGONOWSKI: "You know, every place I go, people are telling me they never see John Kerry in Massachusetts." PERSON 11: "John Kerry?" (laughter) PERSON 12: "No." PERSON 13: "No." PERSON 14: "No, no." PERSON 15: "Never." PERSON 16: "Hope not." CHYRON: "Have you seen him?" OGONOWSKI: "Has John Kerry ever come in here?" PERSON 17: "No!" (laughter) PERSON 18: "John? No." PERSON 19: "John who?" GROUP: "No, actually." PERSON 20: "No." PERSON 21: "No." CHYRON: "John Kerry missed 569 votes in Congress and he hasn't passed a bill of his own in 9 years!" OGONOWSKI: "You know in the last six years, he's missed over 500 votes? So if he's not in Washington voting for us, and if he's not in Massachusetts what's he doing?" PERSON 22: "He has forgotten why he was sent to Washington." CHYRON: "Help us retire John Kerry." PERSON 23: "He's been there too long." PERSON 24: "So you'd like to hop in and get something done?" OGONOWSKI: "Absolutely. I'm Jim Ogonowski and I approve this message" (Hotline sources, 5/8).

Kerry spokesperson David Wade: "Fiction like this belongs on HBO, not cable television in Massachusetts. John Kerry was ranked the 12th most powerful senator because he has stood up to George Bush to end the war in Iraq, invest in renewable energy and break our depenedence on foreign oil" (Murphy, Lowell Sun, 5/8).
