It seems like it was only yesterday (actually it was at a 10/16 debate) when Michele Bachmann (R-MN 06) said she'd embrace Barack Obama. But after her MSNBC comments 10/17, she's now given GOPers yet another reason to worry.
-- Bachmann is in full damage control, and has appeared on several local TV stations to soften some of the criticism. But the damage may already be done. Ex-MN Trans. Sec. Elwyn Tinklenberg (D) has raised over $700K off the comments (more than he raised in the entire 3rdQ) in just the past two days. And her comments also fit into the narrative that Tinklenberg's been preaching: Bachmann's too divisive and she's more concerned about her nat'l profile than the CD.
-- Tinklenberg was always going to give Bachmann some trouble, but Bachmann had the upper hand heading into election day. That now appears in much doubt. But she's not the only GOPer who finds his or her seat in jeopardy. The Club for Growth came out with three new endorsements today: Bachmann, John Shadegg (R-AZ 03) and Scott Garrett (R-NJ 05). When the Club, who normally likes to just play in GOP primaries, endorses an incumbent, you know GOPers are worried.
