After tomorrow, you won't be hearing from any of the CO CDs that hold competitive primaries today, as they're all very safe seats. But despite that, each race has some interesting sub-plots.
-- In CO-02, we said earlier this month that if ex-CO Board of Ed chair Jared Polis (D) and ex-state Sen. Joan Fitz-Gerald (D) started directing their attacks, which they'd saved for each other, at environmentalist Will Shafroth (D), it meant he was making a move. But that hasn't happened. Shafroth can't be counted out, but if the race is between Fitz-Gerald and Polis, Fitz-Gerald's labor and establishment support may be key in turning out the vote.
-- Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO 05), like Reps. Steve Cohen (D-TN 09) and David Davis (R-TN 01), earned his seat by garnering a small plurality in an '06 primary. But unlike Cohen, he hasn't been able to completely mend fences from '06. But he also hasn't disappeared like Davis. Will that be enough for him to survive? Many expect it is, simply because a 3-way race almost makes it impossible for him to lose.
-- But while CO-02, CO-05 and CO-06 may be nearing conclusions, today's vote also allows us to focus completely on the state's main event: the fight for Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's (R-CO 04) seat.
