NEW YORK 26 (R/ROCHESTER -- REYNOLDS)

You Do Your Job, And I'll Do Mine

Tue. May 6, 2008

Rep. Tom Reynolds (R) passed the GOP torch to Int'l Motion Control exec. Christopher Lee (R) 5/5, endorsing his candidacy "and weighing in" on Erie Co. Exec. Chris Collins' (R) politics. Reynolds: "I firmly believe this will be a Republican-held congressional seat." Lee: "I will be all about shrinking government in Washington while at the same time growing business right here in Western New York."

Reynolds "also tacitly acknowledged the rift" in the local GOP "caused by Lee's candidacy and the opposition so far" noted by Collins, who supported another GOP candidate. Reynolds: "I'm an old school politician. So I believe that county executives from our area ought to run the government and county chairmen need to do the politics" (McCarthy, Buffalo News, 5/6).
