It's only appropriate that WH Dems are headed to FL just as HBO releases its take on the '00 race. HRC, of course, wants to keep the Flor-igan debate alive, while Obama needs to prove he can win here this fall. Can either find success?
-- B. Clinton may find the DNC delegate logic "dumb," but can the Clinton camp still sell the pop. vote argument? If you watched/read any coverage of Obama's IA victory speech last p.m., it's clear Obama's won the debate. It's the delegate count, not the popular vote that counts.
-- St. Pete Times' Smith has a smart look at the gaps Obama needs to plug here; namely w/Hispanics, Jews and white Panhandle voters. Obama touches on all but the latter. But, another sharp FL Dem strategist tells us, Dems lose in FL when they spend too much time worrying about S. FL and not enough time up north: Tallahassee, Gainesville and Jacksonville.
-- Think those are tough areas for Obama? Take another look. This region has the highest %age of blacks and college students in the state. Aren't these the exactly the kind of voters Obama knows a little something about?
