No offense to IN, NC, KY et. al., but it's not about you. Well, it hasn't been for sometime, but now the candidates aren't even being subtle. It's all about the superdelegates. Or at least that's the message Obama is sending this week.
If Obama really wanted to go for the white working class vote, shouldn't he just have jumped on the gas tax bandwagon? Sure, it'll be seen as pandering. But if he wants to shed the 'effete' label, this seems like a better option than bowling.
What Obama did show off, however, was his get of ex-HRC-backer and ex-DNC Chair Joe Andrew. For those keeping score that's 2 super switchers for Obama, zero for HRC. But what reason did Andrew give for the switch? Obama's understanding of small-town, Hoosier values? Nope. It was his inspirational message. Nice, but is that what undecided IN voters are looking for?
Obama's red-state superdel rollout this week has been impressive. But how many more does he have in the bank? And is the new slew of polls out today showing him losing ground to HRC - and losing the confidence of Dem voters as the stronger McCain foe - making them antsy?
