Ex-AL Gov. Don Siegelman (D), "out of prison on bond as he fights his bribery conviction," said 4/29 "he has been barred from traveling" outside the state without prior approval. Siegelman: "If I'm not a flight risk, why would they be constricting my travel and making it verry difficult if not impossible to leave the state? There is but one conclusion, and that is that they don't want me speaking out on issues. They don't want me speaking to Congress or speaking to the media." Seigelman "has been invited to appear" before the House Judiciary Cmte "on his claims of political influence behind his prosecution, although those plans appear to be on hold" (Evans, AP, 4/29).
