NH Dems "elected" the remaining members of their delegation to the Dem convo on 4/26. The state party will send 30 delegates to the convo, including 7 superdelegates, 2 of whom "remain uncommitted." NH Dem Chair Ray Buckley selected Hillary Clinton co-chair Kathy Sullivan for the unpledged delegate on 4/26. Buckley, a superdelegate whose allegiance "remains a mystery," said his choice of Sullivan should not be seen as an indication of how he will vote. He said he made the offer long ago. Buckley said he plans to "make his presence known" at the convo. Gov. John Lynch (D), also a superdelegate, has not pledged yet (AP, 4/27).
The Dem State Cmte also elected 2 at-large reps to the DNC. In one race, state Sen. Peter Burling (D) won against two-term incumbent Gaetan DiGangi (D). Burling "denied that presidential politics had influenced the outcome." Even though Burling backed Edwards, some activists had said he was favored by the Barack Obama campaign over DiGangi, who supported Clinton (AP, 4/27).
