Cerner founder and Chief Executive Neal Patterson has become a billionaire thanks in part to one of the first laws signed by President Obama -- the 2009 Health Information Technology for Economic & Clinical Health (HITECH) act, Forbes reports.
Cerner’s work force has grown by 20 percent to 10,500 employees over the past year, and the company is opening a new 660,000-square-foot office complex in Kansas City to hold 4,000 more employees, the magazine reports.
