A former economic adviser for the Obama administration said on Wednesday that he is concerned about the possibility that a new debt ceiling fight could lead to severe consequences.
When asked on CNN's Starting Point how worried he was, Austan Goolsbee, the former chief economist for Obama’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, said, “I think a little worried.”
He added that the number of issues that needed to be addressed post-election was disconcerting. “I think the fact that the budget sequester and big cuts from last year plus the debt ceiling are all coming up at the same time is the thing that's making people a little nervous,” he said.
