A federal trial began Tuesday pitting Chevron Corp. against Steven Donziger, a former public defender who sued the company and won in 2011 for environmental damage to the Ecuadorian rainforest, Bloomberg reports.

Chevron is counter-suing Donziger for alleged fraud and conspiracy in the case, which resulted in Chevron being held liable for a payout of $19 billion in damages.
