Former Vice President Al Gore sounded more like Michael Moore and less like the narrator of An Inconvenient Truth last week when he tore into climate-change deniers at the Aspen Institute forum in Aspen, Colo.
From The Daily Beast: "Ignore that this sounds like [a] long-distance call from Minsk: Check out Al Gore at the Aspen Institute ripping, Deadwood-style, into climate-change deniers."
Listen below.
The New York Times's ClimateWire reports that Gore charged climate-change skeptics with using "pseudo-scientists" to deny that humans play a role in global warming, comparing the tactics to those that tobacco companies used to deny the health risks of smoking.
An impassioned Gore said: "It's no longer acceptable in mixed company -- meaning bipartisan company -- to use the goddamn word 'climate.' It's not acceptable. [Climate-change deniers] have polluted this to the point where we cannot possibly come to an agreement on it because of this organized activity."
