The former American ambassador to Afghanistan, Ryan Crocker, has been charged with drunken driving and for being responsible for a hit and run incident in Washington state, CNN and other news organizations report.
He was arrested Aug. 14 in Spokane after his car struck a semi-truck when he tried to make a right turn from a left lane, authorities told the Associated Press. He was released on his own recognizance the next day after pleading not guilty. His next court date is set for Sept. 12.
