Does Obama Plan a 'West Wing' Moment to Solve the Debt Crisis? Carney Says They're Working On It

In the oft-referenced West Wing episode in which budget talks break down (sound familiar?), President Jed Bartlet walks to Capitol Hill to meet with Republican leadership to prod them to make a deal.

Is President Obama plotting a simliar move?

At the White House briefing on Wednesday, press secretary Jay Carney jokes that they're considering walking down Pennsylvania Avenue to urge Congress to get across the finish line and make a deal on deficit-reduction and raising the debt limit.

Meanwhile, President Bartlet -- ahem, actor Martin Sheen -- told ABC News last week that he would "shut down government" over the debt crisis.
