Fort Lee Army Base was put on lockdown Monday morning after a female soldier shot herself there, according to officials.

The Virginia military post was given the all-clear about 50 minutes after the active shooting situation was reported through a post on the base's Facebook page:

An active shooter incident has been reported on Fort Lee at CASCOM HQ, Bldg. 5020. All personnel should enact active shooter protocols immediately. The installation is being locked down until further notice. More info to follow.

CASCOM is the Army's Combined Arms Support Command, which provides training for soldiers. The four-story building is the headquarters for the Army base.

The soldier "turned the gun on herself and fired one shot," according to a statement from Fort Lee reported by The Washington Post. She was transported to the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

A Pentagon spokeswoman told the Associated Press that the shooter did not wound anyone.
