"I'm in this job because I want to help people and make America a better place to live, work, and raise a family," Stallard told National Journal. She previously served as a staff assistant to Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., and as a legislative fellow to Rep. G.K. Butterfield, D-N.C. She attended Appalachian State University and the University of North Carolina School of Law. Stallard, 26, hails from Cary, N.C., and held internships in the offices of the governor and the Statehouse.
